Congress veteran and Rajya Sabha MP P. Chidambaram is currently under the grip of the country’s largest investigative agency, the CBI. He is accused of corruption in the INX Media case. Chidambaram has also been accused of benefiting his son Karti Chidambaram in business as finance minister. The CBI arrested him on Wednesday night from his home in Jorbagh.
After arresting P. Chidambaram, the CBI brought him to his headquarters and he was questioned all night. Someone has rightly said that time is very powerful. What P. Chidambaram knew was that the CBI headquarters that he had inaugurated in 2011, he would have to spend the whole night like the accused.

P. Chidambaram was the Home Minister in Manmohan Singh government
Actually, P. Chidambaram was the Home Minister of the country from 2008 to 2012 in the Manmohan Singh government. On June 30, 2011, several prominent Congress leaders, including former PM Manmohan Singh (chief guest), Chidambaram (distinguished guest), were part of the inaugural function of the CBI headquarters at Lodhi Road. After 8 years Chidambaram had to spend the night in the lockup of the same headquarters.

Congress leaders are facing CBI questions
P. Chidambaram was interrogated all night. According to media reports, Chidambaram is not cooperating in the investigation. He deferred most of the questions of CBI officials. He was asked by the CBI if he had met Indrani Mukherjee and Peter Mukherjee. In response to this question, Chidambaram said that he does not remember anything about the meeting. His son Karti Chidambaram has also said that he has never met Indrani and Peter Mukherjee.
