Time Changes : 10 years ago P Chidambaram was the Home Minister, Then Amit Shah was Arrested, now Chidambaram’s Turn

New Delhi: Nothing is permanent in politics, the cycle of time in politics revolves very fast. And when it turns around everything changes. This is the hallmark of the country’s politics once again. Congress leader and former Union Home Minister P Chidambaram is currently trying to avoid arrest.

In the INX Media case, the Delhi High Court refused to grant him anticipatory bail and is in the Supreme Court. On the other hand, ED and CBI are ready to arrest him. Something similar happened to the current Home Minister Amit Shah about 10 years ago, when agencies were behind him. But now times have changed and the game has also changed.

During the tenure of the UPA government when P Chidambaram was the home minister of the country, the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case was at its peak and action was taken against Amit Shah in the same case. On 25 July 2010, CBI also arrested Amit Shah and put him in jail. Chidambaram was the home minister of the country from 29 November 2008 to 31 July 2012. Now the time has turned and Amit Shah is the country’s Home Minister and CBI-ED P.P. Ready to put Chidambaram in jail.

During the press conference on 25 July, Amit Shah was arrested by the CBI, he remained behind bars for three months. After this he was ordered to stay out of Gujarat for 2 years. After this, on October 29, 2010, the High Court of Gujarat bailed Amit Shah. The BJP was enraged after Amit Shah’s arrest and accused the UPA government of retaliating.

Amit Shah remained outside Gujarat until 2012, he was relieved before the 2012 assembly elections and the Supreme Court allowed him to go to Gujarat. However, on the appeal of the CBI, the Supreme Court shifted the hearing of the case out of Gujarat and sent it to Mumbai. Later, the case was heard in a Mumbai court. After a long hearing, in 2015, a special CBI court acquitted him of all charges.

Let me tell you that P. Chidambaram is accused of taking bribes in the INX Media case. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday refused to grant him anticipatory bail, after which the sword of arrest is hanging on him. Chidambaram is in the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail.
