new Delhi. According to the latest data from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the number of subscribers of Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea combined decreased by 41.75 lakhs in June. However, rival Reliance Jio added 82.6 lakh new users in this month.
Vodafone Idea continues to be the largest telecom company in the country with 38.34 crore users. At the same time, Jio with 33.12 crore users and Bharti Airtel with 32.03 crore users remained in third place. Vodafone Idea lost 41.45 lakh users during this period, while Bharti Airtel lost 29,883 customers.
According to TRAI figures, the number of users using Jio has increased by 82.68 lakhs in June, which is higher than the figure of 81.80 lakhs in May. On the other hand, despite all financial and operational difficulties, the number of public sector Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) users registered an increase in June. BSNL recorded an increase of 2.66 lakh subscribers in June.
