Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai Expressed Grief Over the Demise of Sushma Swaraj

Former External Affairs Minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj has died on Tuesday. She breathed her last at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. It is being told that senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj passed away due to a heart attack. Former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has expressed deep sorrow over his death.

He said that she was a strong leader and a great orator. Karzai expressed condolences to India and Swaraj’s family.

With this Karzai expressed his deepest condolences to the Prime Minister on the tragic demise of Venerable Sushma Swaraj. He said that Sushma represented India with immense dignity.

Sushma Swaraj had been ill for a long time and her kidney transplant was also done. She did not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections because of illness. In 2014, Sushma Swaraj received the charge of the Ministry of External Affairs. Sushma was also the Chief Minister of Delhi during the BJP rule. At the age of 67, She died in Delhi around 11.24 pm on August 6, 2019.

Sushma Swaraj decided not to contest the last Lok Sabha elections due to ill health. Her decision surprised the BJP supporters. Many people appealed to her to contest elections. Sushma Swaraj was elected the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament by the Bharatiya Janata Party of India in the year 2009, thus she has been the Leader of the Opposition in the Fifteenth Lok Sabha of India. Prior to this, she has lived in the Central Cabinet and has also been the Chief Minister of Delhi.

She contested 11 elections, in which she contested the assembly thrice and won. Sushma has been a seven-time MP.
