Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj announced on Tuesday that she will not participate in the election of Lok Sabha in 2019.
“It is the party that decides, but I have decided not to challenge the next elections,” ANI told the agency.
Swaraj, who is a member of Vidisha’s Parliament in Madhya Pradesh, made the announcement at a press meeting in Indore on Tuesday, the Hindustan Times reported. The minister also said that she had informed the party about her decision.

Swaraj cited health reasons for not contesting upcoming elections, according to the Hindustan Times.
