A bill has passed in the Lok Sabha, which is made to deal with customer complaints. Under this, a regulator-Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) will be created which will give new power to the consumers across the country. They will listen to their complaints.

Food minister Ramvilas Paswan while presenting the bill in the Lok Sabha that the Consumer Protection Bill 2018, replacing Consumer Protection Bill, 1986, to establish CCPA as a national level regulator. There are 109 sections in total. This regulator will deal with different issues including different products, product quality, misleading advertising, celebrity advertising. Regulators will also monitor shopping through e-commerce, direct selling and tele-marketing.
Customers will get the Right
CCPA Bill will deal with cases related to false or misleading advertisements in violation of customer rights, misbehavior, so that people can not be cheated. Paswan told that under the leadership of 1 DG, there will be 1 inquiry branch (Branch), which will have the powers to find and seize the possession.
