Surgical Attacks on Terror Launch Platforms Across LoC

Surgical strikes were carried out for the first time by the Army of India on the middle night of September 28 and 29, 2016 on terrorist launch platforms through the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan. The strikes were a great success as they destroyed seven platforms of terror launch in an operation of almost five hours. The army had carried out the attacks days after Prime Minister Modi warned that Uri’s attack, in which 17 members of the Army died, would not go unpunished. The operation was carried out between 500 meters and three kilometers through the LoC. The ALH Dhruv helicopters were used to release commandos from Army special forces within Pakistani territory. The entire operation was overseen by the then Minister of Defense, Manohar Parrikar, the National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and then General Army Chief Dalbir Singh.

The Balakot Airstikes

Just 11 days and 12 hours after the cowardly suicide attack of a terrorist from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) on a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, which caused the death of 40 CRPF staff members, the Indian Air On February 26, Force (IAF) rained bombs in the JeM terror camps in the interior of Pakistan, killing between 200 and 300 terrorists. The laser-guided bombs were launched by IAF Mirage fighters at Jaish’s largest terror field in Balakot. Later, the government confirmed that it was a pre-emptive strike that took place after the intelligence agencies received credible information that JeM planned to carry out more attacks within India. The whole operation, which was “100% successful”, finished in just 21 minutes and all the combat planes returned to India without any damage.A day after the Pulwama attack, the Modi had assured the nation that his government will avenge the martyrdom of CRPF personnel will not spare those involved in the basil attack.

Satellite-Killer Missile

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Wednesday to announce that India has reached an important milestone in its defense capabilities by shooting down a low-Earth orbit satellite using an anti-satellite missile (ASAT).

The prime minister said that the Shakti Mission carried out on Wednesday morning was completely successful and congratulated the scientists of the Defense Research and Development Organization for carrying out the mission with high precision. It should be noted that, in addition to India, the ability to shoot down satellites with missiles in space is only possessed by the United States of America, Russia and China.

“In the journey of each nation, there are moments that make us proud and have a historic impact on generations to come.” One of those moments is today. On March 27, 2019, India has successfully tested the Anti-Satellite Missile (ASAT). Congratulations to all on the success of the Shakti Mission, “said the prime minister.

According to PM Modi, the mission was completely indigenous and the low-orbit satellite was in an orbit 300 kilometers above the earth when it was shot down by the missile. Modi noted that the main objective of the Shakti Mission was to demonstrate to the world the capabilities of India that are purely defensive in nature and are not against any country.

A ballistic missile defense interceptor (BMD) developed by DRDO was used to activate an Indian orbital target satellite in low Earth orbit (LEO) in a “Hit to Kill” mode. The interceptor missile was a three-stage missile with two solid rocket propellers.

With the announcement on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi sent once again a clear message to Pakistan, China and other nations that under his leadership, India will continue the defense policy and the country is now able to defend itself with all its might. With the successful test for the ASAT missile, India has also reinforced its defense in space. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has already carried out two surgical attacks inside Pakistan: the first surgical attack was carried out by the Army from September 28 to 29, 2016 and the second by the Indian Air Force on February 26. of 2019.
