6. Practise Previous-Year Papers and Mock Tests
Previous-year papers allow aspirants to get an idea about the level of difficulty, usual topics, and time management for questions.
These can be done as follows:
Solving chapter-wise questions after completion of the topic.
Taking one mock test per week initially.
Finding mistakes in the wrong or unanswered questions.
Revising the weaker areas before sitting for the next test.
Raising the number of mock tests as the exam nears.
However, it must be remembered that the previous papers are just practice materials and not a certainty for questions to come in 2027.
7. Start Physical Preparation Early
The Railway Group D selection process includes a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) after the Computer Based Test (CBT). So candidates need to prepare themselves physically along with their studies. The exact physical criteria can be found in the relevant notification. One can begin with walking, running, stretching, and strength training as per one’s comfort level.
8. Check Official Railway Recruitment Updates
This recruitment was announced in CEN 09/2025, where there were 22,195 vacancies notified. The application process and examination schedule correspond to this particular recruitment, not the 2027 recruitment vacancy that has not been officially announced yet.
The applicants need to keep an eye on the official website of RRB Chandigarh and the concerned regional RRB website for the next announcement.
Conclusion
Once a candidate passes out Class 10, they should start preparing for the Railway Group D 2027 by practicing Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness. Revise concepts from school textbooks, solve multiple choice questions, previous year papers and follow proper revision timetable. The physical fitness of the candidates who want to get Railway Jobs should also be considered while making the preparation plan. The most important thing to remember is that the old syllabus is a reference guide and follows the rules and dates laid down in the official RRB notification for those who have been confirmed for their RRB.
