Washington: On the occasion of ‘National Day of Prayer Service’ in America, the Vedic peace text was chanted in the Rose Garden of the White House. The program wished the health, safety and well-being of the people suffering from the corona virus. On the invitation of President Donald Trump, Harish Brahmabhatta, the priest of Swami Narayan Temple in New Jersey, recited the Vedic peace. Dharmacharyas of other religions also prayed on this occasion. This is the first time that a priest from New Jersey’s Swami Narayan temple attended a prayer meeting at the White House on ‘National Day of Prayer Service’.
‘Brahmabhatta translates prayer’
Priest Brahmabhatta reciting Vedic peace on the occasion said, “It is not unnatural for people to get restless and not feel calm during this difficult time of corona virus, social distancing and lockdown. Shanti recitation is a prayer that is not done for any desire for worldly riches, success, fame or going to heaven. It is a beautiful prayer for peace. It is a Vedic prayer, taken from the Yajurveda. ‘ Brahmabhatta also translated the entire prayer into English.
Trump thanked Harish Brahmabhatta
After the prayer was over, President Donald Trump thanked Harish Brahmabhatta. He said that America is currently fighting a very terrible disease. He said that whenever there has been any challenge in the history of time, our people have expressed faith in faith, the power of prayer and the infinite glory of God. On this occasion, Trump’s wife Melania Trump expressed his deepest sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones due to the corona virus.
So this is why prayer is organized
Vice President Mike Pence described America as a country of prayers and said that the people of his country believed in the power of prayer too old. He said that former US President Abraham Lincoln had asked the American people to pray in 1863 so that the collective prayer of the people would make an impact and be blessed by God. After this, every US President since 1952 follows this Protocol on National Prayer Day. He said that today President Donald is also carrying forward this tradition in the White House Rose Garden.
