US President Donald Trump Casts Doubt on China’s data on Coronavirus

Washington: US President Donald Trump has cast doubt on China’s official data on the corona virus. In fact, Trump reacted after US lawmakers accused China of hiding the truth of the whole affair on the basis of an intelligence report. “How do we know that the figures are accurate,” Trump told reporters. The number seems small. “However, he said that the US has good relations with China and has close ties with Chinese President Xi Jinping.”

Republican lawmakers expressed displeasure over a Bloomberg report that Beijing misled the international community over the Wuhan-initiated transition and deaths. Bloomberg has published this report quoting the US Intelligence Department.

According to Johns Hopkins University, as of Wednesday, China had released a total of 82,361 cases of infection and 3,316 deaths. Republican MP Ben Sasse has called these figures of China nonsense. He said that the claim of more infections in the US than China is false.

On the same report, Michael McCall, the top Republican MP in the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, said that ‘China is not a reliable ally in the fight against Covid-19.

“He lied to the whole world about the spread of human-to-human infection, silenced doctors and journalists who told the truth and now they are trying to hide the true figures of the infected,” said Mackall. Has requested the Ministry of External Affairs to get the matter investigated.
