INDvsSA: India Declared Innings as soon as they crossed 500, now its Bowlers turn

India declared their first innings by scoring 502 for seven on the second day of the first Test match against South Africa. In the first innings for India, opener Mayank Agarwal scored a double century. Rohit Sharma also scored a brilliant century. Rohit was a bit unlucky and missed a double century by 24 runs. Mayank and Rohit shared 317 runs for the first wicket. This is the Indian record of the largest partnership for any wicket against South Africa. 

A Test match is being played between hosts India and South Africa in Visakhapatnam from Wednesday. India won the toss in the match and batting first. The Indian team scored 202 runs without losing wickets on the first day. The game of the day was declared on this score. The Indian team extended the innings beyond this score on Thursday.

Indian Opener Rohit Sharma completed his century

Wednesday. Whereas, Mayank Agarwal was unbeaten on 85 at the end of the first day’s play. Both of them beat the South African bowlers fiercely for the second consecutive day. During this, Mayank Agarwal also completed his century. The pair, who shared a 200-run partnership on the first day, raised India’s score to 317 runs without a wicket on Thursday. On this score, Rohit Sharma was stumped off the ball of African spinner Keshav Maharaj. He was dismissed for 176 runs.

Even though Rohit Sharma missed out on a double century, Mayank Agarwal did not miss a chance. He changed his century to another century. This is also the first century of his test career. Incidentally this is also his first Test match in India. In this way he became the player to score a double century in his very first Test match played in India.

Mayank Agarwal was dismissed by 215 runs. He was caught by Bavuma off part-time bowler Dean Elgar. Agarwal took the full ball to the ball at midwicket in the hands of Bavuma. He hit 23 fours and six sixes in an innings of 371 balls. Rohit Sharma also hit the same fours and sixes in his innings.
