New Delhi: In view of the ever increasing onion price in India, the Central Government has banned the export of onion. The government has said that onion will be exported till the next order.
Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that onion export policy has been revised and prohibited from free till the next order. Therefore, the export of all varieties of onions is restricted with immediate effect.
Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday warned to take strict action against black marketing and hoarding of onions with a view to keeping prices onion under control. He said that the government may also consider imposing stock limits.
