New Delhi: After being beaten on the international stage on Kashmir, Pakistan on Saturday violated ceasefire in Naushera sector of Rajouri and Krishna Valley sector of Mendhar. Mortars were fired in both sectors from the Pakistani Army. In this, Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa was martyred in Nowshera sector.
The Indian Army also gave a befitting reply to Pakistan’s shelling. In this, Indian troops destroyed many posts in Pakistan in Nowshera sector. Also, there are reports of large number of Pakistani soldiers in this retaliatory action by the Indian Army. According to army sources, there was unprovoked firing from Pakistan in Nowshera sector at 6:30 am on Saturday. Pakistan fired from small arms to mortars. A senior army officer said, “We are giving a befitting reply to the action without provocation.”

Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa, 35, a resident of Dehradun, who was injured during the ceasefire violation died during treatment. According to sources, Thapa had been serving in the Indian Army for the last 15 years. Seven soldiers have been killed this year due to ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Two days before Pakistan confessed to the killing of five soldiers on the LoC.
