Delhi Government Waives Off Vehicle Fitness Test Fee, Cut Several Other Charges For Over 90,000 Auto Rickshaw Drivers

It is expected that these decisions of the Kejriwal government will benefit 90,000 auto-rickshaw drivers. For the GPS trekking system, where the current GST and SIM charges were collected and charged Rs 100 per month, now that too has been completely waived. Now all these will be borne by the Transport Department. Along with this, the late penalty fee has also been reduced on the fitness test, where for the first time you have to pay 1000 rupees and 50 rupees per day, thereafter you will have to pay 300 rupees and 20 rupees daily.

Fees have also been cut for duplicate registration certificate and transfer of ownership, where earlier Rs 500 was to be paid for it, while 150 rupees will have to be paid after the new rules are implemented. The penalty charge has been reduced from Rs 500 per month to Rs 100. All these new changes will come into effect from 1 September.

Earlier in June, the Kejriwal government had increased the rent of auto rickshaw by 18 percent. Such an announcement before the Assembly elections to be held in February next year makes it clear that the Kejriwal government is making such announcements to vote for these 90,000 auto rickshaw drivers. Anyway, but poor auto rickshaw drivers will undoubtedly benefit from it.
