Budget 2019: Home Ministry Gets 1.19 Lakh Crore Rupees

Central Home Ministry has allocated Rs.1,19,025 crore in the Union Budget 2019-20. This year, an increase of 5,858 crores has been increased compared to the allocation of 1,13,167 crores last year. With special emphasis on union territories and national cyclone risk, this increase has been made for the quenching project.

The budget presented by the Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on Friday included an allocation of Rs.15,098 crore for the Union Territories.

However, for the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project, the budget has been allocated Rs 296 crore, for which only 3 crore rupees were allocated in the previous budget.

In the outlay of major schemes, for the modernization of police forces in the budget, Rs 3,462 crore has been allocated, for which in the last financial year Rs 3,192 crore had been allocated.

825 crores has been fixed for development programs of border areas, which is more than 50 crores more than the last time. Last time, about Rs 771 crore had been allocated in this regard.

For the freedom fighters (pension and other benefits), the budget has also increased, for which 953 crore rupees have been allocated. In the last financial year, an amount of Rs. 858 crores was allocated.

A sum of Rs 2,129 crore has been allocated for border infrastructure and management, for which in the previous budget, Rs 2,001 crore was allocated.

For the police infrastructure, the budget has allocated Rs 4,757 crore compared to Rs 4,836 crore last year, which is less than Rs 50 crore.

In this year’s budget, Rs 842 crores have been allocated for the relief and rehabilitation of migrants and people returned home. Last time, about Rs 1,048 crore was allocated in this regard.
