NASA’s Study Confirmed, Earth’s Surface Heating Up

WASHINGTON: The assessment made by NASA researchers via satellite has confirmed the data that showed the surface of the Earth in the last 15 years. Study workers evaluated the temperature of Earth obtained through satellite-based infrared measurement system AIRS (Atmospheric Infra-Red Sound) from 2003 to 2007. The study team matched these data with the Goddard Institute for Space Studies Surface Temperature Analysis (GISTEMP). Later this study was published in the journal Environmental Research Letters. There has been considerable similarity between the two data collections in the last 15 years.

Joel Saukind of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in America said that AIRS data was complementary to GISTEMP because it had a higher scope than GISTEMP and it covered the whole world. “Both the sets of data showed that the surface of the earth got hot during this period and it was the warmest year 20162013 and 2015,” said Saukid in a statement.
