Two Frogs

A group of frogs traveled through the forest and two of them fell into a deep well. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were almost dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs paid attention to what the other frogs were saying and surrendered. He fell and died.

The other frog kept jumping as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs shouted at him to stop the pain and simply die. He jumped even stronger and finally succeeded. When he came out, the other frogs said, “Did not they hear us?” The frog explained that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him all the time.

Moral: there is power of life and death in the language. A word of encouragement for someone below can raise them and help them through the day. So be careful what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words … sometimes it is difficult to understand that an encouraging word can go a long way.
