Supreme Court Issues Contempt Notice to Rahul Gandhi on “Chowkidar Chor Hai” Statement
Contempt notice has been issued to Congress president Rahul Gandhi for referring to the Supreme Court‘s statement of ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’. Earlier, the court had sought an explanation from Rahul, now has issued contempt notice. The next hearing in this case will be on April 30. On Monday (April 22), Congress President Rahul Gandhi had expressed his regret in his reply to the Supreme Court, which said that he had given such a statement in the electoral atmosphere for which he is sorry.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi apologized to the statement of the Supreme Court after the verdict in the Rafael case and said the ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ statement Rahul Gandhi said that the zeal of the election campaign had said so. Said – In any manner, their intention was not to contempt of the court by making a wrong comment in relation to the ongoing hearing or decision regarding the Rafael case. He said that the statement relied on social media and electronic media and relied on the facts of the activists and activists present there.

The Supreme court had clarified on April 15 that there was no such thing in Rafael’s decision, in which, it can be said that ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’. Rahul Gandhi, while referring to the court’s decision, said that now the apex court also believes that ‘ Chowkidar Chor Hai ‘.
On April 15, the Supreme Court had directed Gandhi to clarify by April 22 on the contempt plea of BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi. Meenakshi Lekhi had requested for these comments to initiate contempt proceedings against Rahul Gandhi.
It is known that MP Minakshi Lekhi filed a contempt plea against Rahul in the Supreme Court over the controversial statement.
