PM Modi calls Donald Trump, talk on these issues for half an hour, targeted PAK without naming

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday telephoned US President Donald Trump as part of a dialogue at the top level after India’s announcement to abolish special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Modi said that the sharp rhetoric of some leaders of this region and promoting violence against India is not compatible with peace.

Modi’s remarks about some leaders making sharp statements were a clear indication of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Khan has been making inflammatory statements against the Modi government and India’s action for the last few days. According to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office, the conversation between Modi and Trump lasted for half an hour. The conversation took place in a “warm and cordial” manner, reflecting the relationship between the two leaders. During this time bilateral and regional matters were discussed.

“In the context of the regional situation, the Prime Minister said that sharp rhetoric by some leaders in the region and inciting violence against India is not conducive to peace,” the release said. Two days of this conversation between Modi and Trump The first US President had a telephone conversation with Khan and asked him to resolve the Kashmir issue on a bilateral basis with India. Continuing his campaign against India over the Kashmir issue, Khan on Sunday called the Indian government ‘fascist’ and ‘superiorist’ and alleged that it was a threat to minorities in Pakistan and India.

He also said that the world should also consider the safety of India’s nuclear armament because it will not only affect the region but also the world. Earlier this month, India repealed most of the provisions of Article 370 to withdraw special state status from Jammu and Kashmir and divided the state into two union territories. Pakistan reacted sharply to this. According to the statement, Modi underlined the importance of creating an environment free of terrorism and violence and asked for a ban on cross-border terrorism.

According to the release, the Prime Minister reiterated India’s resolve to cooperate with any country that supports in this struggle against poverty, illiteracy and diseases. Modi reiterated India’s old and determined determination for an ‘orthodox, secure, democratic and fully independent Afghanistan’, pointing to what would be Afghanistan’s 100th year of independence. During the conversation, Modi also mentioned his meeting with Trump in Osaka on the occasion of G-20 in June.

“Referring to his bilateral talks with Osaka, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that India’s Commerce Minister and the US Trade Representative would meet soon to discuss bilateral trade prospects for mutual benefit,” the statement said. According to him, the Prime Minister also appreciated being in regular contact with President Trump.
