Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Triple Talaq bills, Husband & Wife will hire lawyers Against each other and Become Poor

On July 24, the Triple Talaq Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha. In the House 303 votes were cast in favor of the bill, while its opposition 82 votes. The Congress, TMC, BSP and JDU had to walk out of the House in protest of this bill. Triple talaq bill was presented by the government on Thursday in the Lok Sabha. Referring to this bill, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said that this bill is essential for gender equality and justice. Ravishankar Prasad said that the Muslim sisters suffering from Triple Talaq had pleaded in the Supreme Court. After this, the court had given the decision as three unconstitutional divorce. Law Minister had said that till July 24, 2017, 345 cases of Triple Talaq have come up.

Significantly, at present, the Bharatiya Janata Party has got a full majority in the Lok Sabha but the BJP in the Rajya Sabha is still away from the majority figure. Janta Dal United is also part of BJP-led NDA. JDU had already cleared that he would oppose this bill. Thereby, the BJP may have to face difficulties. JDU has also opposed in the Lok Sabha. Jaidu says that after the criminalization of the Triple Talaq, the problems of the suffering women can increase. Apart from this, it was necessary to discuss the opinion of the public on the bill, to the political parties.

If there is a situation like RTI Bill then the government will not have any problem. In the vote of the Rajya Sabha on the RTI Bill, 117 votes were cast in favor of the government and only 75 votes were contested while the number of MPs of non-NDA parties was 127. Out of these, the number of UPA MPs is 67.
