On Friday, France confirmed freezing the assets belonging to Masood Azhar, head of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), the French government confirmed.
The announcement came after a joint statement issued by the French Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The official statement added that France will discuss the inclusion of Masood Azhar on a European Union list of people suspected of involvement in terrorism.
Pakistan has been under pressure from world powers to act against terrorist groups, including the JeM, that are outside their territory.
JeM had previously claimed responsibility for the horrific Feb. 14 attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, in which at least 40 members of the CRPF were killed.
