It is believed that Shahnawaz worked as a recruiter and was responsible for recruiting terrorists for the Jaish-e-Mohammad. Shahnawaz and Aqib come from Kulgam and Pulwama in Kashmir, respectively. The UP Police will seek the return of transit for both and will undertake additional investigation.
After the horrific terrorist attack against the CRPF personnel in Pulwama, Kashmir, on February 14, security agencies have attacked the terrorists. Yesterday, according to a MyNation report, seven Kashmiris, who sold shawls and dried fruit in Delhi, were picked up by the IB after realizing their involvement in suspicious activities. According to the agencies, some of them may be working as informants for terrorists.
Earlier this week, two terrorists, believed to be the masterminds of the Pulwama attack, were neutralized by security forces in Kashmir, about 15 km from the site of the suicide attack. At the meeting, 4 members of the Army, including a commander of the Army, were martyred at the meeting. Two civilians, who were used by the terrorists as human shields, were also killed. Later, 23 men with alleged links to Jaish-e-Mohammad were detained by security forces.
