Ghaziabad Police Sent Notice to Twitter India MD, asked to reply in 7 days
Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Police of Uttar Pradesh has sent a notice to Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director of Twitter India. This notice has been issued by the SHO of Loni Border Police Station. Police have said that in the case of beating an elderly, some people used Twitter to spread hatred in society, yet Twitter did not take any action against them. The notice has been sent under Section 160 CrPC and the MD of Twitter India has been told that he will have to come to the Loni Border police station and get his statement recorded. It has been written in the notice that through Twitter Communication India and Twitter Inc, some people using their Twitter handles sent messages spreading hatred among the society, which were not taken any cognizance of the company. Apart from this, work affecting harmony between different groups of the country was promoted and such anti-social messages were allowed to go viral continuously.
In the summons sent by the police to Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director, Twitter India, he has been asked to be present at Loni Border Police Station, Ghaziabad to record his statement. One week’s time has been given to record the statement.
