INX Media Case : Supreme Court Dismisses Appeal filed by Congress Leader P Chidambaram against the Delhi High Court order which Dismissed his Anticipatory Bail Plea
The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal filed by Congress leader P Chidambaram against the Delhi High Court order. Chidambaram challenged the order of the Delhi High Court in the Supreme Court in which his advance deposit was rejected.
Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s INX Media is involved in money-laundering and corruption cases. The case is being looked into by the CBI.

Justice R. The bench headed by Bhanumathi also heard the petition of Chidambaram. The former Union minister had challenged the handing over of the ‘rape warrant’ and the trial court in the INX Media corruption case against him to the CBI’s case till Monday.
The apex court on Friday protected Chidambaram from arrest in the money-laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate till Monday.

The court has sought a response from the investigating agency on Chidambaram’s plea and directed that the three cases be listed today.
Chidambaram argued against his arrest that it was a violation of his fundamental right under Article 21 of the Constitution, not hearing the apex court on July 20 and 21 on his petition challenging the High Court order And was arrested on the night of 21 August. He has denied his involvement in the case. The CBI had filed a FIR on May 15, 2017 and the same year, the ED had filed a case of money laundering.
