Netmeds Buys Health Tech Start-up KiViHealth for $10 Million

Netmeds, which is an electronic pharmacy startup, has now acquired KiviHealth in cash and in shares.

KiviHealth, founded by the Indian School of Business Students, Bhanu Mahajan, and Rajandeep Singh in 2015. It is a clinical management platform and a digital health information system with a patented digital prescription tool that allows doctors to generate digital prescriptions.

The financial details of the agreement remain unrevealed, but Netmeds founder and CEO Pradeep Dadha said Netmeds is investing around $ 10 million to grow and integrate the KiviHealth business segment.

“Both doctors and consumers are critical to the health care value chain, and with this acquisition, we are moving closer to health care service providers and are creating digital touch points in the ecosystem,” said Dadha. “The platform not only creates a digital repository of patient health records with the digital prescription pad, but also drives daily operations such as booking appointments, billing and managing medication inventory,” he added.

Netmeds, a licensed electronic pharmacy portal that allows online purchase of drugs, hopes to integrate KiviHealth’s capabilities with itself by the end of this year and also expects to hire about 250 people in the next 2 years.
