Boy’s Job Appraisal

A small child went into a pharmacy, reached for a box of soft drinks and brought it to the phone. He climbed into the cardboard box to reach the phone’s buttons and began dialing in seven digits (phone numbers). The owner of the store observed and listened to the conversation.

Boy: “Ma’am, can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?

Woman: (at the other end of the telephone line): “I already have someone to mow the lawn.”

Boy: “Madam, I’ll cut your lawn for half the price of the person cutting your lawn now.”

Woman: I am very satisfied with the person who is currently cutting my lawn.

Boy: (with more perseverance): “Ma’am, I’ll even sweep your curb and sidewalk, so on Sunday you’ll have the most beautiful grass in all of Palm Beach, Florida.”

Woman: No, thanks.

With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The owner of the store, who was listening to all this, approached the child.

Store Owner: “Son … I like your attitude, I like that positive spirit and I would like to offer you a job”.

Boy: ‘No, thanks.’

Store Owner: But you were really begging for one.

Boy: No sir, I was reviewing my performance in the work I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady I was talking to! “

Moral: this is what we call “self-evaluation”. Every time we do not get ahead of others, we blame others for it. We must look at ourselves and compare, find our own weaknesses and work hard to get rid of weaknesses. He always works hard, honest and with full dedication. He will always pay.
