Congress Attacks Mamata over Saradha Scam in Parliament, Mamata says, ‘Will remember’

Although Congress President Rahul Gandhi extended his “shoulder to shoulder” support to the chief minister of West Bengal against the CBI investigation into the Saradha gossip fund scam, congressional leaders have continued to attack the leaders of Mamata and TMC for the scam. While the Bengal Congress has ruled out any possibility of an alliance with TMC, Congress deputy Adhir Chowdhury attacked the Prime Minister of Bengal yesterday in Parliament and said that the TMC has looted people.

During a discussion on a bill to end unregulated schemes and chip funds, Chowdhary accused Mamata of being an accomplice to Saradha’s scam. “Several hundred thousand people were looted,” Chowdhury said.

This has not gone very well with Mamata Banerjee, who was also in Delhi for another protest of the “United Opposition” of the leading ministers of other states such as Delhi and Telangana. Banerjee, who later came across UPA president Sonia Gandhi, tried to save the situation and said: “We accuse each other, but we are friends.” However, a Mamata Banerjee, very visibly livid, was not buying it. “I’ll remember,” Mamata Said.
