Case of violation against the character on screen Alok Nath is registered on Wednesday by Mumbai police in a complaint documented by a writer and TV producer Vinta Nanda, who in the middle of the current battle of #MeToo blamed him for rape almost two decades behind.
The additional police commissioner, Manoj Sharma, said the case was documented in the “376 IPC (rape)” area.

The writer and producer who worked with the character on the screen in the hit show of the 90s, Tara, blamed Nath for raping her 19 years earlier in an extended Facebook post on October 8. She spoke about her psychological injury that forced her to drink irresponsibly and take medication until 2008, and how she finally discovered her voice as a writer on social media.
The lady first alleged that Nath closed all his shows, which caused the closure of his production company.
At first, the writer did not name him, referring to Nath as “individual #Sanskaari (Cultivated)”, but later revealed the name.
In a long post on Facebook, she composed an account of her own injury: how the actor raped and mistreated her in her own home.
She wrote in her publication that when she was delivering a famous television series from the 90s, he looked for the main actress of the program and kept it even after she rejected his advances, taking the opportunity to disturb her in a scene. When he was expelled from the program, he initially changed the main actress, the story of the program changed and reappeared before it was eliminated.
She alleged that he had her drink increased at a party in her house, and then offered to leave her at home. “I can remember that more liquor was poured into my mouth and I remember being raped incessantly. When I woke up the next afternoon, I had pain. “Not only had they raped me, they took me to my own house and mistreated me,” he said.
She said: “The only reason I am telling this story now is because I do not want any girl to be afraid to retain the truth.”
“What followed because of my silence was even worse. I became easy prey because the message told me I was afraid and that’s why I did not open my mouth. The few times I wrote about what had happened created more complications because I stopped working. “To deal with all the fear and shame, I drank myself almost every night and even flirted with drugs,” he added.
After posting on Facebook, Nath’s wife, Ashu Singh, filed a civil defamation lawsuit on behalf of her husband. This was, however, dismissed by the Bombay High Court.
