Samsung’s Foldable Phone Has Finally Been Unveiled & The Screen Folds Like A Book
Samsung showed a new phone concept that has a folding screen and closes like a book. Samsung plans to shake up the smartphone business with a new smartphone in an already saturated market.
Samsung organized a conference for software developers in San Francisco and the company showed the Infinity Flex Display. The company also showed new software that would run on the smartphone / tablet.
Samsung did not specify if the smartphone will go on sale soon or how much it will cost. Samsung only showed the screen of the smartphone and did not give a clear look to the body of the smartphone.
That said, the smartphone looks like a normal smartphone when it folds up and opens like a book to transform into a 7.3-inch screen. It will be the largest smartphone screen ever launched and is big enough to run three applications side by side. According to Samsung, the screen can fold thousands of times and the company is also studying a screen that rolls and stretches.
When folded, the screen will have a size of 4.85 inches and an aspect ratio of 21: 9 and a resolution of 840×1,960 pixels. As a tablet, the 7.3-inch main screen will have an aspect ratio of 4.2: 3 with a resolution of 1.536×2,152 pixels. When it is displayed, the cover screen automatically turns off.
